Mitraniketan Rural Technology Centre was established for imparting technical skills to rural youth as part of their vocational skill development. It functions with the twin objectives of providing technical training to rural youth and artisans, and production in training workshops so as to sustain the centre.  This Training cum production centre has been engaged in Metal Fabrication, Carpentry, Sawing, Printing, Pottery, and Coir mat weaving.

The rural youth in the Vikas Bhavan School benefits from this center as it gives them hands on experience in technical skills like pottery, sawing, carpentry etc. The teaching items are all production related work which will be contributing to the students indirectly and thus the ideology of ‘earning while learning’ is also materialized here.

         The Rural Technology Centre also serves as an exhibition centre for different technologies like pottery, coir, weaving etc. which are fast vanishing cottage industries/professions these days. The centre provides an opportunity for visitors as well as students to see all these technologies under one roof. The centre also serve as a fabrication unit for developing new machineries and a lab for developing new technologies.
